Celtic Evensong
The 4:00 p.m. Celtic Evensong service is inspired by an ancient spirituality that, in the words of the poet John O'Donohue, "articulates the inner friendship that embraces Nature, divinity, underworld, and human world as one." Featuring poetry and meditations by O'Donohue, Mary Oliver, Malcolm Guite, and others, this service allows the divine to emerge through quiet reflection. The music is contemplative. There is no traditional sermon. A brief reflection is given by a lay person or sometimes by a member of the clergy. Communion is offered to all who would like to take part. Come, you who are broken in body or in spirit, you who are torn by relationships and doubt, you who feel deeply within yourselves the divisions of the world, and find peace and rest.
